Seeing the interconnected web that run between the Heart, mind, spirit and physical body. Her understanding of a person's unique life experience, holding space with out judgement, comes through in her work. She works with kindness and compassion that is felt in her touch, Creating a space for the receiver that is safe and allows them freedom to heal.
What is Shiatsu? In a nut shell... a combination of massage, acupuncture, yoga and chiropractic all in one. Shiatsu uses stretching, pressure and holds. It moves the "Qi and Blood" in the body to remove stagnation that creates pain. This process helps to balance the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects within the client, creating freedom in one's body so you can feel rejuvenated with a strong sense of wellbeing.
Shiatsu benefits all people on all walks of life. Pain is what draws people into to see me, as pain is what helps a person realize something is not right in their body. Therapeutic Massage sessions are perfect for anyone who would like a targeted pain relief as well as the added luxury of increased blood and lymph circulation, and general relaxation.
Shiatsu is for the person who wants to open their body. It unkinks the garden hoses with in, so the work from a session continues for days afterwards. Shiatsu works on more then just pain issues, although it works wonders at decreasing and eliminating pain in the body. Shiatsu works with all aspects of the body, mind and spirit, this allows a person with depression or constipation to receive the same relief as a person with neck or back pain. Shiatsu is for anyone of any age, from new borns to a person actively dying.
Erica works with pregnant women. Shiatsu can be beneficial in increasing fertility in those looking to get pregnant. It is of great value during pregnancy to keep your body from having pain or digestive issues. She also helps mothers who are having trouble going into labor by working with the local midwives and ObGyn.
The greatest joy for Erica is to see the people she works with begin to take their health into their own hands. We all have the ability to heal ourselves, friends and family members. We are just lacking the knowledge to start the journey, or perhaps are on the journey and feel a little lost. Erica will also give diet recommendations, herbal teas, exercises and meditations.
She worked with women who struggle with depression and anxiety shift to feeling freedom in their steps and sunshine in their smiles.
She has helped women work through internal struggles of fear toward birthing a child and have seen them overcome these struggles and have smooth labors, bringing into this world a beautiful child.
There are many men who come in with pain and leave feeling lighter then they can remember.
When Erica is not doing Shiatsu or massage you can find her in the garden. She loves growing plants and having her hands in the soil. She grows a big garden full of vegetables and many medicinal herbs, that she has fun turning into teas, elixirs, syrups and salve. She does all this with her two incredible kids. She loves playing outside no matter the season. She also enjoys cooking with her kids and studying Chinese medicine and herbs.
